Dan Berberich

Daniel Berberich's (b.1986) work revolves around the exploration of people as his primary subject. His paintings explore the complexities of human emotion, with a special emphasis on the dark and melancholy. Using a rich, warm palette, he creates strange and compelling works reminiscent of Uncanny Valley, with a stillness that invites the viewer to stare and think. His distinct figurative language unfolds in dark, haunting scenes with intricate narratives that have an almost surrealistic quality.

Daniel was born in Laubach, Germany, and did not move to the United States until the age of fifteen. He received his BFA from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and now lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia.
